Sidewalk versus The Dude. Sidewalk 1 : Dude 0

Otto here. I'm going incognito these days because I had a little altercation with the sidewalk (it was disrespecting me).

As you can see, the sidewalk won this time . . .

Flying . . .

Otto here. My dad just checked the rules and, technically speaking, there is NO MINIMUM AGE for learning to fly. There is, however, some stupid rule about having to be able to reach all the controls and seeing out the front window. There's always a catch.

Anyway, here's me enjoying Grandpa Faden's airplane . . .

In the meantime, I'll just drive my Mini Cooper.

My language continues to expand daily, if not hourly. Among my favorite words right now are "CHASE," "Fast," "Go Go Go" (once is never enough), "Lemonade," "Milkshake," "Beetle" (as in the car), "Bus," "Blankie" (my affectionate term for blanket), "Outside," "Bubbles," and "Bumble Bee," and, if I really, REALLY want something, I'll even throw in a "Please."

Photo Update

Dad here. We've been busy with family visits (Grandma Turner and Grandpa Faden) and have fallen behind on Otto happenings. The dude's vocabulary continues to expand at a ferocious rate. He's even picking up words we haven't taught him ("house" and "castle"). And he's renamed our cat Grendel. She is now . . . drumroll . . . "Nurkel." He most enjoys finding her cat house in the morning, leaning down into the opening and screaming "N-U-R-K-E-L!" Grendel, ahem, Nurkel then comes shooting out at about 1,000 mph.

Anywhere here's some assorted photos:

Uncle Rivalry

In an effort to avoid any tension between Uncles, we embarked on teaching Otto each one's name.  Unfortunately, it seems that Uncle Matt somehow became a generic overall term for any Uncle.

Uncle Ben is not pleased.

What I learned at the beach . . .

Otto here.

We just returned from the beach where I had a GREAT time. It's like a very, very large sandbox with a big pool.

Most importantly, Mom and Dad got lunch at the beach pavilion and I learned a new word. This word represents all that is pure, sublime, wonderful, just, and righteous.

And that word is . . . NACHOS.

I like Nachos and when I'm eating Nachos I like to say the word Nachos.

Nachos. Nachos. Nachos.

And yes, I know you're here just for the pictures. Those are coming soon . . .

Excuse

I am really sorry for not posting for so long. We have been doing some exciting things, I have just not been holding up my end of the bargain. Truth of the matter is I have been feeling like poop. If I could I would have curled up on the couch weeks ago and I would still be there. As it is, that doesn't really fly with Otto. But I have to say, I haven't done much above that lately. Pretty much when he is napping or sleeping, so am I. Since nap time is my main blogging-cooking-cleaning etc.. time, you can imagine the state of things here. Actually eric has been great in allowing me to be pretty much useless. Thank God for my friends who have been wonderful at keeping Otto occupied and me well fed.
There is however a reason for all of this. Otto is going to be a big brother and I am hosting the next parasite. At this point parasite really feels like the right word since the baby seems to be getting all that makes me function, leaving me with not much else. Still it is pretty exciting. Our due date is Feb 13th, two days before Otto's due date strange enough. Must be a good time of year for us. Because of the drama with Otto my doctor wants to do a C-Section at 39 wks. Works for me.
Due to the fact that I am so sick this time and wasn't really with Otto eric is convinced it is a girl. He was also convinced it was twins, but that was ruled out during the ultrasound. Here is the first picture, you can judge for yourself.

I will try and get some photos up of Otto before I crash for the night.....
