Sharing

Both Otto and Mette, and most small children for that matter are not really all that great at sharing. They know they should, but it's hard. They do however seem to be much better with sharing with each other. Perhaps they already are beginning to understand that like it or not, your brother/sister is going to be around all the time and you might as well make peace with the situation. On Thursday we had a pretty hot afternoon and Otto was recovering from a nasty knee scraping with a popsicle. Funny to think it was hot since it is a whopping 50 degrees and rainy today. When Mette woke up from her nap she was quite interested in Otto's treat and he was more than willing to share with her. It was quite sweet.

Then of course she had to do a little talking on the phone.

And then she spotted an airplane!
That night we dined al fresco as Otto like to call it. We brought out Mette's highchair and a kids table since Otto had a friend over. It was made very clear to us when Mette climbed into a chair at the kids table and showed no signs of moving that she was not going to sit in the highchair for dinner. Silly me. So we brought out a booster seat and she sat with the big kids.

The beautiful thing about eating outside, messes like this are so much easier to clean up!
